Wilson Industries (www.wilsonindustries.com) has developed a welding curtain that allows outside light into a welding booth to help the welder’s vision while providing safety to surrounding areas.
The Spectra Orange See-Thru Curtain filters welding arc images and all far U.V. radiation and blue light, while transmitting outside light into the welding booth.
The company said the Spectra Curtain is designed for low to high amperages in electric arc welding, and can be used for MIG, TIG, arc, plasma and other high amperage welding arcs. It is designed for heavy duty workplaces.
The curtain has a thickness of 40 mils, and provides extra strength, longevity and abrasion resistance. It also is available in 14 mil.
The company said tests conducted on a variety of transparent curtains by the U.S. Army Environmental Hygiene Agency concluded that the Spectra Curtain was the most effective welding curtain in all four test categories, covering a range of 15 amps to 1300 amps in controlling hazardous radiation. The Spectra Orange See-Thru Curtain also meets California State Fire Marshal requirements.
It is available with optional accessories such as hooks, curtain ties, additional grommets, E-Z FAS’N fasteners, wind control valves, chains and patch kits.
